Jan 18, 2025 - FASSelangor FC import player, Noor Al-Rawadeh, has been exceptionally disciplined with his rehabilitation treatment for the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury on his left knee.
He has been a pivotal figure for the team, consistently giving his all on the field and embodying the spirit of determination and resilience. However, his season was put on hold following a devastating ACL injury during the 2024/25 Super League match against PDRM FC on October 19th at the Majlis Perbandaran Selayang Stadium.
According to the team's doctor and physiotherapist, ACL rehabilitation typically takes between 6 to 12 months, depending on the individual. The progress Noor has shown so far has been very encouraging, aligning well with the protocols set for professional athletes. His commitment and discipline in following the tailored rehabilitation schedule are evident, highlighting his determination to come back to the field stronger than ever.
Time has passed by, Noor has now completed two months of rehabilitation. He underwent various regimens for both knees, including strength, balance and coordination training at the Red Giants Medical Centre, and specialised treatment with the team's doctor and physiotherapist. At the same time, he also underwent hydrotherapy and manual therapy over the past nine weeks. This phase is also to ensure that athletes can achieve a return to play condition quickly as possible.
Apart from that, Noor has also received more in-depth guidance on the nutritional requirements essential for optimising the athletes’ ACL recovery and supporting the overall rehabilitation process.
Noor now is set to begin plyometric training soon, a crucial phase that aims to increase strength and speed in running, while also helping him regain confidence in his field performance. This training is especially important in football, as it involves various movements that require balance and coordination.
The player wearing the number 8 jersey of the Red Giants expressed his determination to keep making progress, "I can feel my condition improving day by day. My muscle strength and stability are getting better, and I’m focused on returning to full fitness within the set timeline. I believe my muscles are now stronger than before, thanks to the recovery program set by the Selangor FC Sports Science Department.
"However, the next phase will be more challenging, as I will start basic jogging and running training, but it is very important to rebuild my confidence on the field. With the full support of the team's doctors and physiotherapists, I’m determined to progress through each phase successfully and eventually will get to train alongside my teammates.”
Noor is facing his first long-term ACL injury, despite being away from his beloved family, he is grateful that many people have helped him continue his recovery sessions, “Being away from his family during this time is tough, however, I am very grateful to have enough support from the club, teammates and everyone around me. They keep me motivated, and I am determined to come back stronger, contribute to the team's success, and help Jordan in the World Cup Qualifiers later.”
The Selangor FC management prays that Noor Al-Rawabdeh will continue to stay positive throughout his recovery, as training sessions brings him one step closer to a successful return. We are all behind you, Noor, keep going!
